Bret Smith, Fitness Director
Bret Smith, Fitness Director and Personal Trainer, whose experience and work ethic have helped transform the lives of several clients: Nancy who in less than a year with Bret has given up both leg braces, which she wore for 20 years. Burnie at 92 years of age, spends more time working out at Island Fitness than Natasha and Gloria, a survivor with a beautiful testimony to share.
Bret began his career in Health and Fitness as an Asst. Athletic Trainer in 1992 working with high school athletes and later as a Health and Physical Education Teacher for elementary school age children. In addition, he has worked as a Personal Trainer training clients in a large gym setting as well as In-Home Private Training, Boot Camps and Self Defense Instruction. Bret also contributes monthly Wellness Articles to the “Resource”, a magazine published by the San Diego Society for Human Resource Management, and provides Corporate Wellness Consulting for CaVU Consulting Inc.
Bret is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer and holds Bachelor Degrees in Athletic Training and Health and Physical Education. He also holds a Second Degree Black Belt
Rank in Shorin-Ryu Karate.
In 2011, Bret started a Mastermind Group that brings together Fitness Professionals focused on obtaining the highest level of professional achievement. As an experienced Fitness Trainer with over 20 years in the Health and Wellness Industry, Bret brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise helping clients of all ages and abilities achieve and exceed their personal fitness goals.
